Meredith was born to a family who loved their children fiercely and showered them with lavish gifts. For each of their three children, the couple had a special place where they built their pedestal. Up in a mountain where the first generation of Genekits were rumored to be born, they had a private alcove where they could visit and prepare for the arrival of their child. They decorated the same pedestal each time, but with unique gifts according to their hopes and wishes for each child. Meredith, being the oldest, was given purple irises for wisdom, yellow poppies for wealth and success, and figs for longevity. The crystal itself was gently floating above a handmade shroud, a glittering fabric that seemed almost iridescent. It had been passed down through generations - it is said that including this shroud in a kit’s pedestal will bring good luck and fortune, as it belonged to one of the first Genekits, who helped build and guide their community. It was meticulously placed in a nest beneath Meredith’s crystal. From the other side of the family, they rested a gold adorned lyre on the pedestal, representing the family’s long history and love of playing and composing music. This was said to be built by a Genekit who infused the lyre with their own magic so it would never break or be out of tune. Music filled their lives, and they hoped to share their love of it with their children.
